Kristen McKendry has been writing since her teens and has been published in both the U.S. and Canada. The author of six books, she writes several genres including romance, historical fiction, mystery, and biography. Two more books are slated to be released in 2015 and 2016. Kristen has a keen interest in sustainable living, environmental issues, and urban agriculture. She enjoys playing the bagpipes, learning obscure languages, and growing wheat in the backyard.Kristen received a Mississauga Arts Council MARTY Award in Established Literary Arts in 2012 and her book Garden Plot was nominated in 2011 for a Whitney Award for excellence in LDS literature. Kristen draws on her Mormon background in her writing in order to make her culture more accessible to others and promote diversity and understanding.
