Kristin Lems, Ed.D.,is a Full professor teaching ESL/Bilingual Education at National-Louis University, Chicago, and is Co-director of a 5 year federal training grant from the US Dept. of Education, focusing on improving the instruction of English language learners in the STEM subjects. She is a recent Fulbright Senior Scholar and worked with National University of Mongolia in Ulaanbataar in October, 2013. She previously had a Fulbright to Algeria, where she worked with post-secondary ESL teachers. Lems has written or edited 6 books related to literacy, ESL, and music/arts education, and has published in The Reading Teacher (2011), Writing Systems Research (2012), English Teaching Forum (2012), TESOL Matters, Booklinks and other journals. She is also an English Language Specialist with the US Dept. of State, offering short term training to EFL teachers abroad, and traveled to Chile in that capacity in 2012.In addition, Kristin is a performing songwriter and folksinger and maintains an artist page at Amazon's Artist Central.
