Loved the steppe sections (the first third, plus the odd scene thereafter). The rest is fine, so far as it goes—just not my cup of tea. If you enjoy the idea of Stalingrad from a German perspective or postwar Europe as viewed by a fish out of water, you'll love it. I wanted more steppe, fewer cities...
