Kwok Pui-lan was born in Hong Kong and is the William F. Cole Professor of Christian Theology and Spirituality at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and the 2011 President of the American Academy of Religion. She has published extensively in Asian feminist theology, biblical interpretation, and postcolonial criticism. She is the cofounder of the network Pacific, Asian, North American Asian Women in Theology and Ministry (www.PANAAWTM.org) and enjoys yoga and reading.She is the author of “Postcolonial Imagination and Feminist Theology,” “Occupy Religion: Theology of the Multitude,” (with Joerg Rieger), “Introducing Asian Feminist Theology,” and “Discovering the Bible in the Non-Biblical World.” She is an advisor to the book series “Religion in the Modern World” published by Rowman and Littlefield.
