I am a senior systems administrator and DevOps engineer, the author of DevOps Troubleshooting, The Official Ubuntu Server Book, Ubuntu Hacks, Linux Multimedia Hacks, Knoppix Pocket Reference and Knoppix Hacks among other books, and an award-winning columnist for Linux Journal magazine. I speak frequently on Open Source software including at SCaLE, OSCON, Linux World Expo, Penguicon, and a number of Linux Users' Groups. I started using Linux in 1998 with Redhat 5.1 and continue to use Linux as my primary desktop and server platform (although these days I use Ubuntu, Debian and Red Hat).In my free time I do much of what I do at work--play with Linux and computers in general, although these days a good deal of my free time might also be spent writing. I'm also interested in brewing, BBQing, playing the banjo, 3D printing and far too many other hobbies.
