Loved, loved, loved this short story. It's wonderful how someone can appreciate Miles for everything he can give to a person. I saw that somewhat in the appreciation and awe of his crew, but this was more fully explored even in such a short story. Great series!

Another really strong entry in the series. Bujold does some intense and mesmerizing work with Miles here. I liked this Miles adventure, but not as well as all the ones that came before. Miles seemed different, not nearly as witty, and just plain off his game. The whole weird affair with Taura is just that ... weird.
More set-up and background, but nice adventure.
