I didn't much care for the main couple but I liked the secondary characters a lot. Normally I would have given it 2* but I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book, so I guess it deserves an extra star just for that. ps. It's best to read first [b:Fancy Pants|117367|Fancy Pants (Wynette, T...

To be honest I didn't begin the book with high expectations because when I tried to read Fancy Pants I kind of got bored with all the old tales and I haven't finished it yet but this book was a beautiful surprise just like all of the others I have read from Susan Elizabeth Phillips! I have to admit ...

The gay people in her books always seem to be just props to show how good the main characters are, it gets a bit boring. Why no subplot where a gay character gets their guy/gal?

"Now, this is where I draw the line! Kenny cracked me up. Then again, so did Lady Emma. I thought it was hilarious that Kenny spiked Emma's drink, got her a temporary tattoo, and made her think she'd just been so drunk she didn't remember anything! This one was like many of SEP's other stories, where the two participants seem so ill-su...

Oh man I could not finish this which makes me sad cause I'm a big fan of SEP and is the reason I grabbed this book. I'm surprised cause this got a lot of high ratings. SEP's typical style of heroes are known to be arrogant, suave, a tad chauvinistic and sexist in the beginning of her books but they ...

I don't think I enjoyed this as much on the first reading, probably because I had some trouble adjusting to Phillips' characters; they would drive me nuts in real life, with their crazy reasoning and ridiculous antics! But now that I'm used to her style, I can laugh and enjoy. This is a very silly ...

This was a funny book about Lady Emma an English head mistress who goes to Texas to try and save her girls school. Laid back playboy pro golfer Kenny on suspension is tricked into being her escort. It was starting to get heavy with relationship blockers but was balanced by the humor.

This was such a cute and easy read. It's too bad the Phillips didn't continue on with this series.Lady Emma, head mistress of an all girls school in England travels to Texas with the intention of tarnishing her reputation in order to discourage a dorky Duke from wanting to marry her. What she does...
