I love Keladry's series so much. This is a review of the whole quartet. In a lot of ways this could have been a repeat of Alanna's series. Girl wants to be a knight, finds a way to be a knight, and has to deal with bullies and challenges. However, Kel is such a different character and faces differen...
The final book in the Protector of the Small quartet finds Kel newly knighted and off to her first assignment, a command post nonetheless. The fact that her first assignment makes her a commander makes her more upset than anything else, first because she's nervous the more experienced knights and so...
While I still love the book, I guess this is my least favourite of the quartet. Not that it's not well written, it just gets repititious at times, and could probably easily have been 50-100 pages shorter. Long fight-scenes just aren't my cup of tea.Still charming though - I don't think Tamora Pierce...
