LALEI E. GUTIERREZ, Ph.D., IMFT, BCC, BCPP, dynamic speaker and author, is a holistic psychologist, diversity management consultant and life/relationship coach in private practice. One of her books "The Eight Pathways of Healing Love: Your Journey of Transformation" was chosen and named One of the Best Books of 2013 by Kirkus Reviews. She has extensive experience working with teams and groups in organizations. She works with individuals, couples and families along issues of relationships, diversity, inter-racial relations, leadership development, cross-cultural relations, team building, managing work-life interfaces, health and stress management, culture and gender roles and executive coaching. Dr. Gutierrez has served as consultant to professionals in health organizations, schools, business and governmental organizations dealing with issues such as culture shock, acculturation, trans-generational conflicts, mix-race relations, leadership styles, worldview and communication styles, racial identity, and gender and role difficulties at work.As an Adjunct Faculty Member with the Department of Psychology at Cleveland State University and in collaboration with NTL (National Training Laboratories) and the Greater Cleveland Round Table, Dr. Gutierrez functions as a multicultural faculty team member. She contributes in the development, teaching and delivery of a high-caliber Diversity Management Master's Level Program. As a clinical faculty member, she continues to facilitate cohort personal and professional learning groups for diversity graduate students throughout the program. These groups are comprised of CEO's, Human Resources Consultants, and Diversity and Community Leaders. As a Professional Faculty Member at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland in the Couples and Family Training Program and the Physical Process Program, Dr. Gutierrez developed the Ground Sequences Model from which she teaches, trains, supervises, and mentors postgraduate students in the embodied use of self in developing systems interventions, multicultural/diversity awareness and skills, and working with harnessing the leadership of people of color into the programs. She is an approved supervisor in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and member of the United States Association of Body Psychotherapy, the Ohio Psychological Association (OPA), and the Philippine Institute of Applied Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Gutierrez completed her Masters in Clinical-Social Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University and her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Kent State University. She is a naturalized citizen of the USA. In the Philippines, she led cross-cultural training programs with Peace Corp volunteers, and facilitated humans relations laboratories and leadership programs for government, education, multi-national organizations, religious orders and with large assemblies of people. She continues to be involved as a visiting faculty/consultant to selected projects in the Philippines. In the past she provided training programs in Sweden, Canada, Israel, and Thailand. She is currently working on writing the next book in the Pathways of Healing Love series.
