The enchanting work of contemporary author and artist Lang Leav swings between the whimsical and woeful, expressing a complexity beneath its child-like facade.Her imagination stretches across a variety of disciplines encompassing art, poetry and books. This is about 3.5 stars. This was lovely and had some beautiful works inside it. However, it didn't resonate with me like I expected. After reading other books of modern poetry (which is a very new thing for me), and after seeing such praise for Lang's work, I expected to fall head over feet in love...

I'm really glad I picked this up, but I kind of wish I'd known before buying it that it was mostly pieces from her first two books. It all worked out, though, because I love this hardcover edition and I'll probably end up buying all of her books eventually because I very much enjoyed her style.
