The call to ministry may unfold through differing experiences. Having been baptized in the Ohio river at the age of twelve, Lanis began to search the Word more in-depth. He gave his first sermon during his High School days, in the absence of a local pastor when he was asked to fill the pulpit . . . and that was just the beginning.Lanis E. Kineman has been a Minister of the Christian Church for sixty-four years. He holds degrees from Johnson University, Knoxville, TN. and Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, In. During the twenty-nine years as Senior Minister of Bethany Christian Church, Anderson, Indiana, the church underwent three building programs, planted four new congregations and enlisted forty-three young people for Christian Ministries around the world.Lanis served on the Board of Trustees for twenty-one years at Johnson Bible College; served two years as Secretary of the North American Christian Convention and was President of the Indiana Christian Convention. He also served on the Safety Net Board under the National Church Growth Center in Washington, D.C., for preachers in need. In community service, he served as President in the Exchange Club, President of Citizens for Community Values, and President of the Anderson Ministerial Association. He has led Church Growth and Leadership Seminars and contributed articles for Christian Magazines. Lanis' preaching, teaching and leadership have always been with frankness sprinkled with humor and he he wants to invite you to live the way Jesus lived, love the way He loved, and never give up living for the One who gave His all for you. He has a passion for ministry, which is the basis for this book. Lanis has four children, two daughters and two sons which are both ordained Ministers.
