Overlong and far too infused with fights and battles, this third volume of the First Law trilogy was still engaging and entertaining. It deals also with a great deal of political machinations, twists and turns. Enjoyable enough but still a bit disappointing.

SPOILERS AHEAD, THROUGHOUT I've been contemplating what to say about this book for the last three days. I mean I loved the series as a whole and I loved the characters individually and I know that what Logen's father always said, "You have to be realistic.", is true, but couldn't this fantasy series...

This was the third and final book in the First Law trilogy, although there are three more standalone books set in this world. I have a lot of random and somewhat unrelated thoughts swirling around in my head after reading this, so I apologize in advance if this review is disjointed. Most of my revie...

As ever with fantasy trilogies, everything I said true of both the first and the second pretty much holds true for this. And now that the actual conclusion is hoving over the horizon, it doesn't have the problem a lot of second books do in feeling like filler. Basically I think if you've got to this...

The BasicsIn the final installment of The First Law Trilogy, the war is on. The Gurkish are coming, and the North still hasn’t settled its fight with King Bethod. But whether the Union is ready or not, things are coming to a head.My ThoughtsThat was as much as I dare share. They aren’t spoilers that...

Well, that was a very good, action-packed fantasy trilogy. It had great dialogue, terrific characters, and moved along at a consistently quick pace despite the now-typical girth of the novels themselves. I'll attempt to elucidate the reasons why I think fantasy fans definitely should read this serie...

The First Law is a three book series: The Blade Itself; Before They Are Hanged; Last ARgument of Kings. I read these a year back, so I'm not aware enough of the finer details to review them individually. Not that such a thing is needed as the quality of the books is consistent. What you get in the f...
