After finishing a degree in Business Studies Laura Gibbs decided that the world of marketing and sales was not for her. Instead she wanted to focus on her passion of engaging with people and decided to become a teacher. After gaining a teaching qualification she moved to Thailand to work with a small NGO called Burma Education Partnership. There she worked with grade 1 teachers delivering new materials and teaching styles into the remote Burmese refugee camps along the Thai-Burma border. These days she is still based in Thailand and is trying to visit a foreign city for every letter of the alphabet (being currently stuck on a city beginning with X). Her personal mission is to visit every coffee shop in Chiang Mai, and finally mastering Thai language. Laura enjoys writing and after publishing her first book called 'Becoming an expat: Thailand' she is now working on her next writing project - it's coming soon!
