Lavinia Spalding is author of Writing Away: A Creative Guide to Awakening the Journal-Writing Traveler (named one of the best travel books of 2009 by the L.A. Times) and With a Measure of Grace, the Story and Recipes of a Small Town Restaurant. She is series editor of The Best Women's Travel Writing, and she introduced the reissued e-book edition of Edith Wharton's classic travel memoir, A Motor-Flight Through France. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Yoga Journal, Sunset Magazine, San Francisco magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian UK, AOL Travel, Tin House, Post Road, Inkwell, Overnight Buses, Every Day with Rachael Ray, The Best Travel Writing, Volume 9, and Lonely Planet's An Innocent Abroad.
