Lee Foster is a veteran and award-winning travel and literary book author, winner of eight Lowell Thomas Awards, including Lee being named Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist of the Year, one of the most coveted prizes in the travel writing world. Lee lives in Berkeley, California and develops travel, literary, and publishing books, ebooks, apps, articles, and photos, especially about California. About half of his total work is writing and half is photography. All of Lee's involvement in travel journalism, plus his literary and publishing books, can be seen on his website at www.fostertravel.com. In his travel journalism Lee has more than 200 worldwide writing/photography destination coverages that he presents to consumers and licenses to magazines and other editorial content buyers. Lee's newest book/ebook is about his experience and role in the self-publishing revolution, titled An Author’s Perspective on Independent Publishing: Why Self-Publishing May Be Your Best Option. Recently re-published also is his memoir about growing up in Minnesota, titled Minnesota Boy: Growing Up in Mid-America, Mid-20th Century. His most recent travel book is Northern California Travel: The Best Options, which is also available as an ebook in Chinese. This book charts 30 major trip ideas that Lee feels are the most interesting rationales for exploring the northern 2/3rds of California. The book covers the territory from the Oregon border through Big Sur on the West and Death Valley on the East. His travel literary book, Travels in an American Imagination: The Spiritual Geography of Our Time, exists as an audiobook as well as a print book/ebook. That book is about the vision that we live in both the most wondrous and the most horrific time ever to be alive. The book won a Best Travel Commentary Award from the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association.Lee is also co-author and co-photographer of the recent blockbuster Dorling Kindersley travel guide book titled Back Roads California in their Eyewitness Travel Guide series. Lee has other recent travel books/ebooks with traditional publishers, including two travel and photo guides from Countryman Press/Norton, titled The Photographer's Guide to San Francisco and The Photographer's Guide to Washington DC. Lee won a Lowell Thomas award for his travel guide book Northern California History Weekends from publisher Globe Pequot.Lee also has on his Amazon Author Page various earlier legacy books, which are sought by collectors who want to possess all of Lee's books.
