Dr Lee Rotherham is by background a linguist, historian, political agitator and occasional soldier. A Research Fellow of the acclaimed campaign group the TaxPayers' Alliance, he was co-author of the hit Bumper Books of Government Waste that helped define the agenda on UK Government spending. A former adviser to three Shadow Foreign Secretaries and many front bench and back bench politicians, he is particularly known as an expert critic on the European Union. After his Ten Years On looked at the future for a Britain outside of the EU, The EU in a Nutshell explored the esoterica and strangenesses of Brussels for beginners; and A Fate Worse than Debt now goes back to public spending shenanigans. He has also published a large number of thematic and academic papers, but they have fewer jokes in them.
