This is only one step elevated from being what I call an "issue" book, as the characters seem to be slightly more than profiles taken from the textbooks devoted to the issue, given names and bodies, and little else. On the other hand, in order to emphasize most thoroughly the impact of the medical c...
This is a tale about what happens when life forces you to change the plans you have for your future. It's a good examination about the possible impacts of being stretched beyond capacity and how when you need to slow down, whether you realize it or not, you may just get the opportunity!! Sarah Nickerson has it all. An MBA from Harvard Business School. A great job, a great husband who has a great job, three great kids. She and her husband have a beautiful big house in a suburb of Boston, and a vacation house in Vermont. She works eighty hours a week, but is occasionally able to squee...
4.5 stars. I found the first few chapters of this book rather frustrating and uncomfortable to read. Between her high-powered, demanding and stressful job, her husband and her three young children she doesn’t have time to stop and think and has to schedule every activity i...
I had a hard time putting this book down. I loved the story of Sarah and her battle with Left Neglect. It took the accident for her to see what matters most in life. I think we can all learn to sit back, relax and think about what really matters most in life. :)
