A classic bit of sci-fi from 1951, presented here with some background info about how it came to be - this is a pretty nice format, I'd be very happy to read a lot more of these Rosetta e-books. The background info is just enough to place it in the overall world of SF, and not so much you're dazed ...

I bought this collection of 33 science fiction stories because it was recommended in A Reader's Guide to Science Fiction on its "5 Parsec Shelf" of the best books in the genre. Here's what it said about the book: Anthologies, no matter how excellent, have seldom had enough impact to be "classics." B...

I've been reading quite a few science fiction books lately, particularly anthologies, and this one stands out as special. This wasn't as enjoyable as some others in this series but was an almost academic exercise in the history of science fiction. Some of the stories were very interesting but many of them were a bit ho-hum.

Do I need to say it? Dangerous Visions is and remains the greatest original science fiction anthology ever. It was amazing then and it still does not lose any of its impact today. Lots of great stories here but the main impact for me was the introduction to Philip K Dick through the story, "Faith of...

A cute, clean story about a boy and his robot.

This reader's personal opinion, ©2011, all rights reserved.* Characters still resonate (yeah, even though the robot and science fiction from this time not always character driven). Geared more to younger audience than adults but still a good book. I had a bad habit of confusing his robot books wit...
