Letters to No One in Particular is presented to discuss and to illustrate Spinoza's 'Fragment', "On the Improvement of the Understanding". The goal is to present a faithful rendering, in simple language, of Spinoza's discovery of the existence, presence and operating functions of the Human Mind.
This pamphlet is written for the intelligent and curious reader who recognizes that we as humans are unique and not comparable to any other creatures on earth. Spinoza detailed our uniqueness and further explained our mind's ability to connect us with the "Whole of Nature".
Without any outward assistance from some divinity we have been the architects of all of our achievements.
We need now to accept responsibility for our past and to continue to shape the future for all of those who have labored before us and for those who will follow.
Using Spinoza's concepts we will detail the methodology for recognizing the power resident in the mind and together work to move this human endeavor forward into the future.
It wiil require some effort to wrestle ourselves away from the current widely held misconceptions and the beliefs that dominate both science and all religion: "That human perception is innately and inherently flawed".
Please feel free to join us in the difficult task that awaits. It will require the efforts of many minds to change these erroneous conventions which currently hold sway.
