Liam Quin is the XML Activity Lead at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the publishers of the XML specification itself.Liam has worked with XML, and with its ancestor SGML, since 1987, and with digital typography and text formatting since 1982. Before joining W3C, his consulting clients included Wiley, Open Text and Bombardier; he also worked at SoftQuad Inc. in Toronto.Liam is an experienced speaker and trainer, and also consults on XML projects. He contributed six chapters to Beginning XML (Wrox, 2012). He's known for going barefoot in public places, having a long unruly beard, and signs himself the Barefoot Typographer.
