I don't remember how this book made it onto my bookshelves, but it was clearly under a misunderstanding because I had it in with memoirs. So when I picked it up, I was surprised to learn it was YA fiction. But I kept with it because Micah, the main character, is very compelling. So many things about...
Review can also be seen here: http://twinjabookreviews.blogspot.com/p/our-reviews.html Where do I start with a book I know will confuse me? I must admit, the main reason I bought this book was due to the fact the protagonist was a person of color. I didn't know what it was about, set from the id...
Micah lives with her parents and little brother in New York City. She spends summers with her eccentric grandmother and great aunt. She loves to run. She has a boyfriend who has gone missing. And she is a compulsive liar. Talk about an unreliable narrator!Liar is split into three parts, and in each ...

This was a very quick read. I love the narration; I found myself being pulled in by Micah even though I learned quickly not to trust her. Best YA I've read in a long time.
WOW: As Kay.Anne said about this book: 'Lying can be magical: it’s a chance to tell stories, to use your imagination and fit it in with your life. Some lies are for the better and some lies are definitely for the worse...' Couldn't have been phrased better.
Also appears on The Screaming Nitpicker.A good recipe for getting some reading done:*A sudden desire for unreliable narrators;*a trip to the school library made on a whim just before a camping trip;*a rainy weekend;*and various health problems that keep me from doing much for the moment. The last one...
