"I’ll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way.” Do you know this sentence? Do you love this poem? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you're going to like this story.Elizabeth and William were childhood friends, with a hint of sweethearts, who are separated and end u...

In a world of books today that are so poorly edited, I give this book major stars just for being well-written. Which is sad because that should not really be a consideration. I blame the current trend in very poorly edited new adult POS books. I did have a couple of little personal conflicts. The ...

My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...In Libertine's Kiss, we get to meet a notorious rakehell, whose character is loosely based on John Wilmot; a poet and a close friend of Charles II. Now-a-days, I’m often leery about reading books on rakes; they anno...

Fabulous book. So many things to love about it - the hero, the heroine, the Restoration setting and the descriptions of King Charles, his mistresses and his court, as well as his beloved spaniels, the literary references from Edmund Spenser's "The Faerie Queen" and how they were woven into the story...

I loved this book! It was very well written, had engaging characters and the history was, most of it anyway, accurate. Judith James is a wonderful author and I can't wait for the next book she writes :)Quote:"I will start by telling you this. I have always known you, even when I didn't, and I am goi...
But I don’t know what to do with those Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs.

The last third was a considerable improvement. If it hadn't had that insultingly long-ass prologue, I probably would have enjoyed it more.

This story set during the reign of King Charles II started out pretty good but was overly descriptive and turned into common theme, rogue versus love. I started skimming and my rating is 3.5* Civil war separates childhood friends William and Elizabeth but they meet again after the war.

I'm pretty regency-ed out when it comes to historical romance. I've been on a break lately from the regencies and have ventured into other time periods. Libertine's Kiss takes place during the Restoration period, which I am not too learned in, so it was welcomed.Libertine's Kiss tells the story of W...

There are books I rather like and then, every once in a great while, there are books I love to the point of wanting everybody I know to go out and buy a copy. Libertine's Kiss is one of those rare books. This angsty historical is heartrendingly beautiful, featuring beautiful language and a fantastic...
