From Linda Joy Singleton:When I was 9, I wrote a short story about a cat named Taben and stapled it into a "book" with pictures, too. A year later I rewrote the book, writing it neater, adding chapter titles, and putting games in the back. I didn't know it then but I was "revising" my work, an early step to learning how to become a writer. When I was 14, I challenged myself to type a chapter a day over my 2 week Christmas vacation, and I finished a book (200 pages) in two weeks. This was an important achievement to me because I proved to myself that I could finish a book. Up until then I had many starts but only one "finish."So you'd think I was poised to become a young published author? Maybe...but life jumped ahead of my dreams. I started working at age 17 plus had a short marriage. I didn't dust off my writing dreams until I was 27 and a mother of toddlers. I started off small, writing in the evening when my husband was home to help with the kids. By the time they were in school, I had a schedule of writing in the mornings. I sold my first book when I was 30, a chapter book called ALMOST TWINS. Someday (when I'm quite famous) this will be my more rare book since only a few thousand were ever printed and it was only sold in school book fairs. My first book never made it to bookstores. My 36th book, THE SEER #6. MAGICIAN'S MUSE, came out in 2010. And in 2012, a spinoff from THE SEER starring Thorn, BURIED, comes out in March. Also, I'm working on a big world-creating book now that will be my biggest achievement yet...stay tuned for more dreams coming true.Read short stories and enter a contest here: www.LindaJoySingleton.com

A book that teaches philanthropy and volunteering has it's own rewards. I haven't read it to my grand daughters yet, but I do look forward to sharing it with them. There is also a section about money, coin, decimals, counting, & litter at the end.Cash Kat combines civic lessons, math lessons, and a ...

Received this book from Netgalley/publisher in exchange of an honest review. It wasn't long after I requested and got approved for this one that I found this was the second book. And while the book is mostly readable without much knowledge of the previous book, I still had a hard time to read it. And...

Thorn is a Finder. It's a psychic ability that lets her find things just by touching an item. The visions she gets from items are her guide to find what needs to be found. When she finds a mysterious necklace, she becomes involved in a murder investigation. Anyone could be the murderer, even one o...

2.5 stars This Kindle freebie was an interesting story but predictable and rushed at times. The teenage high school drama was a bit too much for me. I can see the author has talent and I hope she continues in her craft.

Thorn's Finder ability pretty much says it all- she finds things. When one day, it leads her to an ugly necklace, she's soon thrown into a murder investigation. Buried is a light read with an enticing premise that, unfortunately, fell flat with unoriginality and lack of exciting twists. Thorn's char...
