Many of Linda's short stories were featured on the ABC TV website, 'The Making of Modern Australia'. Linda gained an avid readership there. She caught the eye of a publisher and 'A Curious & Inelegant Childhood' - a memoir of growing up in rural Australian in the Fifties and Sixties, was the result. Behind Whispering Hands was Linda's debut fiction novella. She has written prolifically on many topics in both fiction and nonfiction, as Linda Ruth Brooks Publishing, she has published several anthologies as with other Australian authors. A fine artist, Linda has also written and illustrated several children's books.The rich texture of Linda's life is reflected in her writing, which is both joyful and poignant. She writes with raw fearlessness, but irrepressible humour is never far below the surface.
