This is more like 3.5 stars IMHO. Pros:- Heroine is no wimp for sure.- For a novella, there is a lot packed in there, which is also a con (see below).- Different.Cons:- I found it very confusing to follow so much world building in such a short period of time. I didn't feel like we got to know the ...

I read Silent Warrior after Caged Warrior, thus I had a better idea of the world building. There is a mentioned of Dragon Kings, the collar wore by the warrior, the Cages and the Asters, but you won't find any explanation here. I can imagine if a reader start with Silent Warrior, she will have a hel...

The author Lindsey did a great job in creating a world that I'd want to continue to learn about and explore. You open up to Silent and Hark in a cage fight fighting each other. Both of them are Dragon Kings there is 5 different kinds. Silent and Hark are of Sath and are able to borrow another Drago...

3.5 stars rounded up. Interesting world and characters. Lots of things were brought up about the world that I am looking forward to seeing in more detail in future novels. This is a bloody violent world with men and women both receiving and inflicting violence. Lots of layers to this.

Excellent prequel novella to the Caged Warrior, Dragon Kings series. It has a Black Dagger Brotherhood by Ward feel to it. Rough, handsome and hard Dragon Warriors with a lot of attitude and a boat load of trouble following them around.Hark and Silence meet whilst competing against each other in a ca...

I am not yet sure how I feel about these "prequel" novellas. Some are great, some are horrible. But most, like Silent Warrior, fall somewhere in the middle and I am not too sure about them. Their overall success or failure depends on the novel they are "prequeling"Hark of Sath is a Dragon King down...
