Lisa Wade McCormick is an award-winning journalist and children's book author. The Kansas City, Missouri, native, who has more than 20 years experience as a newspaper reporter and investigative television producer, has penned 12 non-fiction books for children.McCormick has written seven children's books for Capstone Press and five for Scholastic. Her Capstone books are titled "Ghosts," "Bigfoot," "Near Death Experiences," "Mothman," "Alien Abductions," "Haunted Houses," and "Psychic Powers." Her Scholastic books are "Lewis and Clark," "Christopher Columbus," "Marie Curie," "The Wright Brothers," and "Michael Jordan." McCormick has worked for The Independence Examiner, The Greeley Tribune, and KCTV, the CBS affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri. Her stories won numerous awards, including two Emmy's and the I.R.E. Medal for outstanding investigative reporting. McCormick also spent five years as an Economic Crime Investigator for the Johnson County, Kansas, district attorney's office.
