Born in Australia Lora Starling is a graphic designer with over thirty years experience in London and Melbourne. She intuitively knew that the logos she designed for major brands, to help make them rich, had more power than the design itself. Whether we like the design, or not, whether it wins awards or the client just likes for its colour, the final result has the potential to create change - it can reach to us beyond our five senses and stimulate change at a deeper and wider level. She learned more about these 'powers' when she became interested in complementary medicine, why some people heal, in shamanism and quantum physics thinking. Her two worlds, the formed and the unformed, collided and the logo was at the middle. Every logo delivers an intention, often for the owner to make money. And she wonders if this is why our world is in a current state of imbalance. Do we wish to be aligned with that underlying intention? A logo is a simple icon comprising ancient elements: symbols, colour and words that have been used by our ancient ancestors. She believes it is in our interest to be conscious of what symbolism we place on our body. Lora holds workshops in the UK and Australia and has private clients whom she coaches in the art of honing and expressing their intentions in a logo so they can benefit from this process in the same way as major brands. She believes our only limitation is in our imagination.
