I decided to give Showalter another shot, but this was way too stupid to finish.

I usually reserve 1 star ratings for books I DNF, but since it also means "did not like," I think it's appropriate here. I heavily skimmed the last two-thirds of the book, only finishing it because I thought some plot element might be needed for the next book in the series. The next book is writte...

For this review and more visit my blog*THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS*Lord of the Vampires had a lot of potential and there were some really good aspects of it but generally it just didn’t work for me.Jane has been having dreams about Nicolai, a vampire, for a long time. Not the best book in the world, but Nik was defiantly a fantastic alpha male, and Jane wasn't lacking as the heroine. Decent bitchy bad guys, a nice plot to unfold, a few twists that made it worthwhile, hope the next book is just as great.

I borrowed this only because I received a free arc for the 4th one in the series. I enjoyed it so much I had to read the 1st one. Of course, I'm a fan of Ms. Showalter so it was no hardship to read though this book. It's fast and moves at a decent pace. I liked oldest brother Nicolai. Jane is p...

I was really curious about the Royal House of Shadows series, 4 books written by 4 different authors and all based on a different fairytale - whats not to like about that? Especially when one of the authors is Nalini Singh and another is Gena Showalter - both authors who have written books I have e...

I have mixed emotions about this book. I enjoyed Jane and Nicoali's story but I think some of it was overly long and the ending was rushed. I guess I'm trying to say it wasn't paced well...... maybe. I'm not sure but I'm not feeling sunshine and rainbows about it overall. Despite that this had good ...
