Collection of short stories, mostly Civil War period but a few covering earlier eras. Some of them seem to be "deleted scenes" from other novels, expanding on people and events in the original. If you've read the other classic Battletech books then you can work out where they fit in quite easily. As ...

Avanti's Angels, a mercenary unit, are sent out to the Periphery to investigate why raiders from the Marian Hegemony against the Magistracy of Canopus are so well equipped.Throw Comstar/Word of Blake and Sun Tzu Liao into the mix and you know deception will be involved. The Angels are a good unit, no...

As the Classic Battletech series heads to a conclusion, civil war is finally decalred between Victor Davion's Federated Suns and Katherine's Lyran Alliance.Lots of action in this book as it follows events leading up to the war and the first year of fighting.

A good novel, setting the Capellan Confederation against some of the splinter worlds of the Sarna Supremacy.Plenty of good mech battle action, although the Capellans always seem to be able to dish out more than they take.Interesting characters behind it, especially Aris Sung and his dealings with hi...

This was the first Battletech novel I got, and have been hooked on the series since.Actually a very good place to start, set in the arenas of Solaris VII which are a microcosm of the whole Inner Sphere, so you get a good grounding about what is going on and the main groups involved.

Follow up in The Capellan Solution series (part one was Threads of Ambition). The battles for the St. Ives Compact lead to conflict both on the field and in the actions of people taking part. This was a good sequel, with plenty of mech action. Fizzled out slightly towards the end, but leaving Sun-Tzu ...

Sun-Tzu Liao's tenure as head of the reformed Star league is closing to an end. He sends out a message to troops from his own Capellan Confederation to take back worlds that seceded during the fourth Succession War and formed the St. Ives Compact.Lots of action, with a small amount of political mane...
