Lorraine Jean Hopping grew up in a small town in Michigan, went to a small college in Michigan (Kalamazoo College), and dreamed big. At the age of 21, she moved to New York City to launch a career in publishing as a writer and editor. Her mantra is "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten." In other words, Lorri thrives on the new, the different, the unknowns in life.A combination of curiosity and fear of boredom have led her into the worlds of magazines, books, radio, software, board games, toys, websites, and . . . what next? She is enthusiastically exploring the overlap between digital fiction, games, multimedia, and interactivity. Having begin her digital writing career in the 1980s with the adventure story "Escape from Antcatraz" (Scholastic), her latest digital fictions are Inanimate Alice (narrative designer) and Mayan Mysteries (writer).Today, Lorraine still dreams big as she creates out of a cozy home office in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
