From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jana DeLeon, the first book in the Miss Fortune mystery series. It was a hell of a longshot…CIA assassin Fortune Redding is about to undertake her most difficult mission ever – in Sinful, Louisiana. With a leak at the CIA and a price on her head by one of the world’s largest arms dealers, Fortune has to go off grid, but she never expected to be this far out of her element. Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small, bayou town seems worse than death to Fortune, but she’s determined to fly below the radar until her boss finds the leak and puts the arms dealer out of play.Unfortunately, she hasn’t even unpacked a suitcase before her newly-inherited dog digs up a human bone in her backyard. Thrust into the middle of a bayou murder mystery, Fortune teams up with a couple of seemingly-sweet old ladies whose looks completely belie their hold on the town. To top things off, the handsome local deputy is asking her too many questions. If she’s not careful, this investigation may blow her cover and get her killed.Armed with her considerable skills and a group of old ladies referred to by locals as The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the murder…before it’s too late.Praise for Jana DeLeon:“Southern wit at its best!” – NY Times bestselling author Gemma Halliday“Sinfully funny!” – NY Times bestselling author Christie Craig“DeLeon is excellent at weaving comedy, suspense and spicy romance into one compelling story.” – RT Book Reviews“I don’t know where she comes up with this funny stuff, but I can’t wait to read the next book…” – Night Owl Reviews“Jana DeLeon has a breezy style with enough of a comic touch to leave you smiling.” – The Romance Reader“Son of a gun, we’re having fun in the bayou!” – Fresh Fiction“The quirky characters keep the action moving…” – Barbara Vey, Publisher’s Weekly BloggerTo learn more about Jana and her books visit her at these places:http://janadeleon.comhttp://facebook.com/janadeleonauthor@JanaDeLeon

Series: Miss Fortune Mystery (#1)
In the beginning, I didn't believe that I would like the main character. Her job isn't exactly something that I can identify with and I feared that such an emotionally detached person would be off putting. Boy was I wrong. The supporting cast of characters are a rainbow in her otherwise black and ...
I enjoyed "Louisiana Longshot". It's a cosy mystery with some snark and improbabilities, but it has a lot of charm and a very neat twist at the end. Yes, this is a short review - I've only had one cup of coffee so far this Tuesday morning :) The book was free on Amazon when I picked it up.
I received a free Kindle Edition of Louisiana Longshot (A Miss Fortune Mystery) by Jana DeLeon from Amazon in exchange for fair review. I gave it four stars.Fortune Redding, aka Miss Fortune, is undercover in Louisiana until a contract for killing a prominent drug dealer's brother is resolved. She m...
This has southern belles with spines of titanium. And it does have a certain feminism to it, as it doesn't portrait the heroine in any way weak or inferior or stupid or inexperienced. And not only her, but also the ladies who run the little town of Sinful. I loved the humor, the banter and the w...
Other than saying I really enjoyed this, I'll say no more. To do so would mean I'd include spoilers galore and so deprive you of a fun read. Now to track down the others in the series
