Because I wanted to edit the hell out of this book. Even listening to it. There was so much repetition, certain words used over and over as well as statements and descriptions. And the sex scenes with the terrible euphemisms were even more cringe inducing read out loud. (And of course only came up w...

Full review to come soon but suffice it to say, I really really REALLY loved this book. Also, the quality of the writing and editing was top notch. And oh yeah, Sean is swoonworthy! ;D

quite read, but the narrator messed up a lot so that was distracting. But, the story itself was cute. I took one star off for the narrator though.

Thanks Audible for the freebie!in all the time I've been reading romance, I've never read one with a soap opera setting. Both the hero and heroine of Love in the Afternoon are soap opera actors, living in L.A. Their lives intertwine as the characters they play on screen are paired up as a couple and...

I used to be a big soap opera fan and since this book was free I though, "Why not?" The author clearly knows soaps (and I'm convinced A New Dawn = Days of Our Lives), which made for some fun moments, but overall I found the story pretty boring.

This was a 3.5 stars for me, but I bumped it to 4 because I'm really excited to read the next book.Things that I loved: Kayla and how genuinely nice she is to everyone; the realistic length of time over which the relationship unfolded; how the author wove the acting into the story (that was the stro...

I was lucky enough to get a copy of Love in the Afternoon thanks to the publisher through NetGalley. I watched soap operas all through high school and college and loved the idea of the story. I’m really glad I gave debut author, Alison Packard’s book a try.I loved both Kayla and Sean from the moment...

Originally posted at Romance Around the CornerI don’t watch soap operas, but I find them fascinating, and if the books I've read are any indication, it’s a good setting for Romance. So when I heard that this book featured two soap opera stars, I couldn't resist (it was also on sale*, so if the theme...

Review originally posted here: http://thebookpushers.com/2012/12/17/review-love-in-the-afternoon-by-alison-packard/Kayla is hoping that her new role on daytime’s hottest soap opera will help her expand her acting portfolio and give her a chance to be taken a bit more seriously. When she finds out sh...

Full review published here: http://www.brazenbookworm.com/2012/12/book-review-love-in-afternoon-by-alison.htmlAn excellent contemporary romance. Sweet, hot, romantic and downright fun. Packard created some great characters and I'm looking forward to the follow-up book.
