One of Janet Evanovich's early romances, it is as funny as her Stephanie Plum series. Ivan has sold his home to Stephanie Lowe who has had nothing but problems with it. When her cousin Lucy decides to get married she talks Stephanie into filling in as the cook on Ivan's sloop. Stephanie is not much ...
This was a really funny book. While there was a romantic undertone, I found the humor and banter to be wonderful. This was a love story that was tangled in a huge web of mystery. It has a ghost, a dead body, two people just crazy about each other and a whole lot more. Ivan is every girl's pirate fan...
28-year-old virgin („no sex before marriage“) Stephanie wants to start a new life and buys an old house at the coast of main in a tourist town, which she wants to turn into a bed & breakfast, it is in a bad state and to get the fiancé of her friend to do some repairs she takes over her job as a cook...
Cute but I didn't enjoy it as much as her other romances. It took a long time to like Stephanie, the bungling idiot. Though I did immediately like Ivan. What a delightful little romp. A bit unbelievable toward the end (too perfect of a resolution), a bit too rushed (in the love department), but it was too funny, silly, sexy, and cute to hold that against it.Loved it.
A cute little romance with plenty of action and clever plot. Stephanie fills in as cook for a week on Ivan's schooner. I skimmed a few spots of pondering making my rating 3.5*
