Dr. Lucy Montgomery is a Vice Chancellor's Research Fellow at the Australian Research Council funded Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Lucy was born and grew up in Darwin, in the Northern Territory of Australia during the 1980s. She first visited China in 1998 on a year long exchange program to Haikou, the capital of Hainan Island in southern China. Upon returning to Australia Lucy undertook an Asian Studies degree at the University of Adelaide, and went on to complete a PhD at Queensland University of Technology in 2007. Lucy's work has been published in the International Journal of Cultural Studies, the Creative Industries Journal, the Chinese Journal of Communication and Industry and Innovation. China's Creative Industries is her first book.
