Luk Van Langenhove is currently director of the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies in Bruges (Belgium). He has published on many social sciences topics. His work is inspired by social constructionism and together with Rom Harré he has developed 'positioning theory' as a new theoretical perspective on socio-psychological phenomena. He currently focusses on studying global and regional governance and on the 'actorness' of regions. He teaches at the Free University of Brussels and the College of Europe.
