A clever alternate universe story and much more enjoyable than the dour, moralistic original, though somewhat obvious in its anachronisms.
Enjoyable enough on its own terms, but I'm afraid I still don't get the point. Why not just write an original book instead of jumbling up another author's characters and telling a different story with them?
