One morning as my husband Bob was getting dressed for work he couldn't find the pair of wool socks that he had laid out with his other work clothes the night before. When he finished dressing he went into the kitchen and saw his socks in the cats water bowl. Thus planted the seed for my children's books series - "Leo & Gracie: Cat Detectives". Bob and I have eight cats so our lives are filled with constant antics, disruptions, and humor as well as kitty litter and cat hair everywhere!! Leo & Gracie are brother and sister cat detectives kept busy being part of a clowder of eight cats. I have written four books in the "Leo & Gracie: Cat Detectives" series the first book being "The Case of the Missing Socks." The second book is "The Case of the Disappearing Mice", the third book is "Where's Ricky - a Missing Cat Case" and the fourth book is "The Ghost of Mr. Doodles." I have included glossaries and discussion questions in the second book to help children develop their reading skills. There is also a running theme of bullying with Gracie being the bully and Leo having to keep his sister under control while trying to solve mysteries. My books are for children ages 6 to 10 depending on their reading level and are illustrated with actual pictures I take of the cats and their surroundings. Children and cat owner/lovers alike will enjoy the books and relate to the cat meetings where the cats discuss such things as destroying new furniture and deciding who gets the extra chairs at the dinner table.
