M L Brocklehurst was born in Cambridge, UK. She grew up in England and Belgium and moved to Australia permanently in 1999. At times she has been a lawyer, political adviser in the Federal Parliament of Australia, and, lobbyist. She is now an author and the owner of Positive Change Coaching & Consulting, where she is sharing her Positive Change Coaching Formula to help others get the results they want in life. "50 Dates in 50 States: One Woman's Journey to Positive Change" is her first book. In recognition of her work and service to Australia, Melanie has been awarded an Australian Service Medal and an Australia Day Medal.
