This one really missed the mark. Way too many questions left unanswered regarding the hero and their time apart. Totally did not believe the HEA.
The beginning of this book just cracked me up. The heroine is constantly snappish and defensive, and the hero keeps thinking things like "she radiated a quiet dignity" and "how fiercely independent and proud she was."

This was a difficult read only because the heartache was so well written my chest ached for Ailsa and Jake. The second chance premise was good and their daughter is adorable.
