I enjoy this series but at the same time it annoys me. Very back and forth with the allies and her dad. I also wish it would get to unanswered questions sooner. Lots left open in this series, little by little with each book more is reveled. As the series goes on it does get better just a slow road.

A rather lacklustre entry to the series. I had high hopes that the new setting, the trip into Death, would revive my waning interest in this series. Nothing like a change of scenery to perk you up, right?Wrong!Well, in Monk's hands it's wrong, anyway. The descriptions of the World of the Dead were s...

I didn't like it as much as the last one, I think it's a transitional book. I did like Stone and Shame.

The soul of Zayvion Jones, Allie Beckstrom's lover, is trapped in the realm of death. His body is in the real world, in a coma. I would have to say that this is my favorite in the series so far. The plot seemed to be tighter, and I liked the adventure in death to retrieve Zavion. I also like how Allie does, mostly, rely on her magical and hounding friends, and she is not actually capable of doing every single thing by he...

This book felt more like a placeholder than anything else. My least favorite part of the series is Allie's on-going Daddy issues, and boy-howdy do you get a lot of that in MAGIC AT THE GATE. I enjoyed the interactions with Shame, Stone, and Allie taking care of un-responsive Zayvion, but I hated t...

I really enjoyed this book, as is usual with this series. It's not the most suspenseful writing, yet... the plot is always new and interesting, the characters continue to grow and change (love Shame and can't wait to see what happens with him and Terric), the main love interests have a real relatio...
