I am so far behind in reviews, and I actually forgot to shelve this book at all, but I suspect others overlook it for similar reasons to me: Primarily, the cover. It totally looks like a YA book, or perhaps even an MG one, but it's actually not. It's also probably not going to shatter your world ...

~~Moved from GR~~ Magic Lost, Trouble Found by Liz Shearin Recommended to Carly by: Snarktastic Sonja Recommended for: readers looking for light full-fantasy hardboiled spoofery Raine Benares has seen her fair share of trouble. As a member of a cheerfully amoral elven crime family, she's seen ...

This was a very nice kick off and I really enjoyed every part of it. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book and see what happens with Raine. I liked the side chars as much as Raine, but I'm not sure how I feel about Mychael. I think I like Tam more, but then again he has fangs. The book ...

The was a very enjoyable read. I liked the world and the cast of characters. Raine is a good heroine who is resourceful and smart. I liked her sense of humor too. Will definitely continue on to book 2!(Ignore the cover- it is a bit cheesy)

Okay, it reads like a pretty typical role-playing session with a smart-alec main character, but I found it a fun read. Raine is trying to make sure a friend of hers doesn't get into too much trouble stealing a magic item and she finds herself embroiled in Goblin politics and murder. She also find...

Too much blabbering about the boring, not enough dialogue and too many crazy forgettable names. When there was dialogue, it was good. When Tam was on the page, the story was interesting. Also, what happened to Michael (or however crazy way it was spelt it with a Y). He started out massively cool, pow...

Ah, the joys of trying to review a book about 3 months after I read it. Will give it my level best try, nonetheless. This is the first in a series of six. I've only read the first two, but the rest come highly recommended by my self-proclaimed Internet bestie Felicia Day (one of the books was feature...

Doing a reread/listen, I want to finish the series and it has been long enough that I don't remember all that happened in the first 3 books so am starting overRaine Benares is a Sorceress Seeker of average ability until she comes into possession of an amulet that amplifies her powers...powers that s...

This book was good. However, it was extremely difficult to get into. This was actually my second attempt at reading it; the first time I gave up halfway through in frustration. The reason for my annoyance at the time was that I just couldn't get a grasp on who each character was because they've all ...

There was nothing "technically" wrong with this book or series but it just wasn't for me. I read the first few chapters and the last few. Fun heroine but predicatable story - girl finds amulet, amulet possesses girl, trouble ensues, bad guys after her, girl must flee home to another place for next...
