I was assured I would enjoy this book. I was highly sceptical, and you know what? Turns out I was right to be. Magician is, we are informed, the first book in the Riftwar Saga. It tells the tale of Pug and Tomas, two young boys growing up in the provincial stronghold of Crydee, in the land of Midk...
Little more than halfway through now, so far its quite good. Took a turn in a different direction to what i expected which was good as I was concerned it would be too predictable (and too similar to another popular epic fantasy). A couple things are not so good, one being the character developments....
I almost thought I was growing weary of fantasy novels (which I hate to admit, because I know it sounds awful and almost impossible).
