Born during tornado season in western Oklahoma, Malena has been a bookworm since she first read, "The Poky Little Puppy" and has been an avid storyteller since she created incredible plot lines for her Barbies. Everyone wants Ken! She tucked her fiction ambitions in her big curly head long enough to attend the University of Oklahoma (BOOMER!) on a journalism scholarship. A member of Alpha Chi Omega, she graduated with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, married her college sweetheart, worked in TV, corporate marketing, had two kids, started an ad agency, had another kid, published her first novel, "The Stork Reality" in 2006, became a brand consultant and finally let those stories in her curly head fly. Her humorous and heartfelt novels include "Something New," "The Stork Reality," "Fixer Upper," "Dating da Vinci," and "Family Charms". She's also authored the popular beach novellas, "Life's a Beach," set in Mexico and "The Last Resort," set in Maui, Hawaii. Her short story and essay collection includes "Hope Floats: Stories on Loss and Living On" and her first non-fiction book is"Dance Mom Survival Guide." In December 2013, she released the romantic holiday novella, "Sterling & Sloane." Her first young adult paranormal novel, "Twin Falls, Messengers Books 1" is currently available, so fly and get your copy. She loves OU football, OKC Thunder, books, wine, yoga, and strong coffee. The founder of Athena Institute, a branding, creative and publishing firm, she was named to 40 Under 40 by OKC Biz and has won dozens of advertising, marketing and writing awards.
