Marc Raymond Johnson was born in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois in 1977. When he was nine, he conceived a story of a group of individuals whose dreams come to life and imagined the battles that they would have surviving their own nightmares. Even so young, the story consumed him almost every night as he lay in bed staring at the ceiling waiting to go to sleep. In the summer of 2000, Marc decided to leave his vocation as an electrician in favor of the studying music and philosophy. He continued his education at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where he focused his studies on Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Religion, and Good Books. During his penultimate semester of college, he began writing the story that had kept him awake at night since he was very young. Four years after graduating from Roosevelt with honors, he completed and published his first novel, Becoming. Marc continues to study in numerous areas of scholarship including Music, Literature, Philosophy, Astronomy, and Physics. He lives and teaches in Illinois.
