Hi, I'm Marcie Steele and I also write under the name of Mel Sherratt. As Mel, I write crime thrillers, psychological suspense and fiction with a punch - or grit-lit, as I call it. Shortlisted for the prestigious CWA (Crime Writer's Association) Dagger in Library Award 2014, my inspiration comes from authors such as Martina Cole, Lynda la Plante, Mandasue Heller and Elizabeth Haynes. Since 2012, all seven of my crime novels have been bestsellers, each one climbing into the kindle UK top 100.However, I'm a romantic at heart and I've always wanted to write about characters who were not necessarily involved in the darker side of life. Coffee, cakes and friends are three of my favourite things, hence Stirred with Love for my first book writing as Marcie Steele. My second, That's What Friends are For, was published in December 2015, and my third will be out in April 2016.I live in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with my husband and terrier, Dexter. You can find out more at Mel's website www.melsherratt.co.uk or I'm on Twitter at @maecie_steele

The Second Chance Shoe Shop was an enjoyable read. There was an interesting mix of characters, and I loved the whole focus on Twitter (even though I still can’t fully work out how to use Twitter myself). Although I’ve not entered the competition, I did find it fun that there is currently a real life...

This is the first Marcie Steele book that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It is a book about friendships, love, lies and betrayal and it most definitely NOT fluffy chick lit. The story starts quite slowly but rapidly picks up and develops a quite complex set of stories which inter-weave with a...

Sam and Louise have been best friends since school and tell each other absolutely everything - don't they? Just like real people, you laugh with them, cry with them and sometimes would like to wring their necks when they are particularly irritating! Definitely a feel good book with characters you ca...
