I listened to this version of Margaret Cho's life, as an unabridged audiobook, read by the author. I liked that the author narrated it herself, especially when she impersonated her mother, but her male voices were painful. I enjoyed the early part of the story the most; Margaret was a loner, pick...

To be honest, I haven't read this particular compilation. I've actually been a subscriber to Bitch Magazine since I first learned about it in 2003, so I assume I've read most of these articles. I recommend this--but especially the magazine--to all my feminist friends who want to engage their brains ...

Sex. This book is about sex and how society sees sex. Honestly, if you are a women read this book. If you are worried about sex ed in school, read this book. There are various topics covered in this collection, mostly about sexually and rape. (The weakest one I thought, strangely, was the essay...

Good and varied collection of essays focusing on various aspects of gender. Several of the essays also deal with homosexuality and pop culture. Do you know there is labia plastic surgery?

Cho has some valid things to say here, but I just couldn't take the format. The tone is so unremittingly hostile and her narration so high and sequaky -- it's like listening to a non-stop shit-fit thrown by Minnie Mouse.

Interesting read and pretty good for what it was. Porn stars fascinate me, and it's interesting to find out what got them into "the business". She seems to have done it for the right reason...she just REALLY loved sex.

Perspectives on rape culture, limitations of the "rape culture" construction, and what to do about it. Some of the essays in this book were much better than others, but I gave it four stars anyway because the ones that were good were REALLY good.

Crap. I can't believe I accidentally deleted my original review for this book. Now I will have to try to recreate it from memory. When I took a class on writing the personal essay, one of my classmates thought that my essays would be a good fit for "Bitch." However, when I asked, "What's Bitch Maga...

If you've seen her perform and know how she brings it on the stage, then you should certainly read the book because you'll have this little Cho voice in your head the entire time. It's like a private performance, well at least it was for me. I love her rants and find her hilarious. She says the t...
