Margaret R. Davis (Margaret Davis) had a Scottish father and an Armenian mother. During the first 24 years of her life, she lived in England, India, and Canada before finally settling down in the U.S. She received a doctorate in Sociology from Stanford University and has published numerous articles and two non-fiction books in her areas of specialization: the family and the work organization. Her first book, "Families in a Working World," deals with the impact on families of the organizations they work for. Her second book, "Organization Design," is a guide for managers on the planning and fitting together of the people and activities involved in doing the work of an organization."Straight Down the Middle" is her first novel.
