Margaret Webb became an avid long distance runner in her 40s and has written about running for Runner's World, Canadian Running and The Globe and Mail. She enjoyed a tomboy upbringing on a family farm north of Toronto, riding horses, playing ice hockey and baseball, and helping out on the farm. She attended the University of Toronto and Concordia University for a Masters in English and Creative Writing and embarked on a career as a magazine editor and freelance journalist. She trained as a screenwriter at the Canadian Film Centre and won a screenwriting fellowship to Walt Disney Studios. She co-wrote the feature Margarita, which has played at film festivals around the world. She is currently at work on a TV pilot and novel and teaches magazine writing at Ryerson University.
