Marilyn Färdig Whiteley is a historian who shares the stories of strong women in the church. After receiving graduate degrees in early church history, she taught at colleges in the United States and Canada. Then she decided to do research and writing in a more recent area of Christian history, so she studied the religious history of Canada. As she did so, she was delighted to learn of the discovery of women's history. Women had hardly ever appeared in the history of Christianity when she first studied it! She took up this new field with enthusiasm and has become a specialist on women in Canadian Methodism, though her interests take her writing into other areas as well.
