After serving time in San Quentin Prison the author decided to change his life for the better. But that took time with some back sliding on his part. After being married two times he finally realized a deeper meaning in life and decided to write stories about those changes in his life. But life got in the way of those writing goals and he then went through many different jobs, friends and life experiences. After retiring as a carpenter at the age of 66 and an operation that forced another change, he again had the time to write about all of those experiences. Now, after six more years, he has completed twenty books and has edited and published many others under the Parsons Publishing Company label. He enjoys riding his Harley and has also written about that experience. ACROSS RUSHING WATERS is a personal history of the valley in which Mark and his wife, Christine, choose to raise their family. GHOST IN THE ARCTIC is the story of Mark's father and the invention and development of the Internet Cable system we all use today, but in its earliest form. CAPTURING THE LAST AMERICAN PIRATES is the investigative story about the demise of the Barefoot Cruises company once located in Miami and which was gutted of money by pirates. The author is a 75 year old northwest resident and writer who has been a truck driver, process server, sea captain, mechanic, fireman, carpenter, hell raiser and dog walker as well as occupying many other positions. With REFLECTIONS ALONG THE HIGHWAY and Me n Mikey he takes us on his own personal journey back through his childhood as a juvenile delinquent, criminal, ex-con, con-man and then as an outlaw biker. Then he married Christine and never again broke any laws. In his twenties he served legal papers for attorneys in Portland, Oregon and then drove long-haul flat-bed trucks. After building the family home in the mountains of southern Washington State, Mr. Parsons started as a writer in 1982 when he wrote short freelance articles for the area newspapers. Being then on the local volunteer fire department and often driving the biggest fire truck, he was in a unique position to write about the emergency responses in that area. As he continued volunteering, he started writing about local history, eventually leading to the publication of three history books in 1983. Also, during this time, he started working with wood by building houses, sea chests, gun cabinets and store interiors. He also drifted into other fields like auto mechanics and security guard. After raising two children he and Christine moved onto a 57' sail boat in Puget Sound and lived aboard for twelve years, only writing occasionally. In 1995, after serving for a time as a deck hand, then boat owner, he obtained his captain's license to pilot larger vessels. After a time at sea he came ashore and went back to cabinet making, his favorite past-time. He is now found writing about his youth In REFLECTIONS ALONG THE HIGHWAY and Me n Mikey, the author uses an alter ego in the persons of Mikey and Max, who takes the reader on a journey into and through crime, passion and punishment until he is redeemed by a young woman who sees hope somewhere in Mikey's dark soul.Mark has also written many other books, edited and published.Go to Amazon and Parsons Publishing Company for a complete list.
